What Is Dopamyn? Performance-Based Web3 Creator Campaigns, Explained
If you have ever paid for a Web3 marketing campaign and received a vague invoice promising "10M impressions" with no way to check it, this guide is for you. Dopamyn was built to replace that guesswork with something verifiable: brands fund specific social tasks, creators complete them, every completion is checked, and payouts settle on-chain in USDC.
This article explains what the platform is, how it works for both sides, and what it deliberately does not do.
What is Dopamyn?
Dopamyn is a campaign-launcher platform for Web3 social. A brand or project funds a pool of verified social tasks, sets the rules for who qualifies, and pays out in USDC on-chain. Creators and KOLs browse those campaigns, complete the tasks that fit them, and earn rewards for real, verified engagement.
The short version of "what is Dopamyn" is this: it consolidates four things that used to live in four separate tools — discovering the right accounts, reaching them, running campaigns, and paying on-chain — into one self-serve product. The brand controls the budget, the eligibility rules, and the verification. Every payout is auditable on-chain.
One important framing up front: Dopamyn is self-serve, not a managed agency. You are not handing your marketing to a team that deploys a roster of influencers. You set up campaigns, set the quality bar, and fund the reward pool yourself. Self-selecting creators who meet your criteria complete the tasks and get paid.
How it works for brands
The core unit is a funded campaign made up of one or more social tasks. As a brand, the flow looks like this:
Connect your X account and a wallet (EVM or Solana).
Create a campaign — pick the task types you want completed.
Gate who qualifies — set eligibility rules so only quality accounts can participate.
Fund the reward pool in USDC — the pool is held in escrow until tasks are verified.
Watch verifications clear — see who completed tasks and what each verified action cost.
Tasks you can fund
Campaigns support a wide range of verified task types across X, Telegram, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and custom submissions. On X alone that includes follow, like, retweet, reply, quote tweet, and bookmark. You can bundle multiple task types into a single campaign — for example "follow + retweet + reply" as one package.
Gating for quality, not bots
This is where Dopamyn diverges from buying followers. You can restrict participation by:
Minimum followers — e.g. only accounts with 1,000+ followers.
Minimum smart followers — only accounts with a threshold of real, active followers.
Verification status — only X-verified accounts.
Account age — filter out freshly created accounts.
A curated list — restrict participation to specific handles you choose.
The point is that you define the quality bar before anyone gets paid. If you want to learn how this maps onto a full influencer push, see our guide on how to run a Web3 KOL campaign, and for finding the right accounts in the first place, how to find crypto KOLs.
How creators earn
For creators and KOLs, Dopamyn is a place to turn genuine engagement into on-chain income. You connect your X account and wallet, browse available campaigns, and complete the tasks you qualify for. When your completion is verified, you receive USDC.
Because campaigns are gated, higher-quality accounts unlock access to more (and often better-funded) tasks. Creators can track their earnings history and claim rewards directly on-chain. If you are coming at this from the earning side, our explainer on on-chain creator rewards covers the mechanics in more depth, and the for-creators page walks through getting started.
What "verified" actually means
The word "verified" is doing real work here. Every task completion is individually checked before any payout triggers:
X tasks (follows, likes, retweets, posts) are verified through social data APIs.
Telegram joins are confirmed by a bot that checks the user actually joined.
Replies, quote tweets, and written submissions pass through AI content checks that reject spam, copy-pasted text, and low-effort slop.
Custom tasks can require screenshot or file-upload proof.
Only after a completion passes verification does the escrowed reward release. This is the difference between paying per verified action and paying per claimed impression. Humans approve the rules; agents execute and verify.
On-chain settlement in plain terms
Payouts are made in USDC through an on-chain rewards contract, with Base as the primary chain and Solana supported in parallel. The reward pool sits in escrow until verification passes, so funds are not released for work that was not actually done. Because settlement is on-chain, every payout is auditable — you can trace where the money went.
The practical metric this gives a brand is cost per verified action: cost per follow, per retweet, per reply, per Telegram join. That is a number you can actually defend in a budget review.
What Dopamyn is not
Being clear about the boundaries matters as much as the features:
It is not a managed marketing service. You run your own campaigns; nobody runs them for you.
There is no retained roster of KOLs. Participants self-select into your campaigns rather than being deployed by Dopamyn.
There are no impression or reach guarantees. You pay per verified task completion. Reach depends on who participates and the audiences they bring.
If "we'll send 50 KOLs to amplify you" is the pitch you expected, the accurate version is: "create a campaign with 50 paid task slots, gated to accounts that meet your quality bar, where self-selecting participants complete the tasks and get paid USDC on-chain."
The proof so far
Dopamyn is already in use by the founder community. To date that includes 320+ campaigns, 190+ founders, and $16.3K in rewards distributed on-chain. Related concepts like share-of-voice are covered in our piece on what is mindshare in crypto.
Getting started
If you are a brand, the for-projects page walks through launching your first verified campaign. If you are a creator, head to for-creators to connect your account and start earning. Dopamyn turns "trust me, it worked" into "here is the on-chain receipt." That is the whole idea.
